Welcome to the new OmarZulfi.com.

My name’s Omar. I completely redesigned and repurposed this site because I wanted to make it a personal blog where I could talk about whatever I wanted that interested me. I’m big into this whole internet thing – got a ton of websites – so I thought I’d make a personal one too…

But I guess I’ll start by tellin you a lil about myself.

First off… I love music and making music – it’s been a majority of my life for a long time. I’ve just always been involved in some form of it from when I was a little kid up until now. Right now I’m a hip-hop artist and urban music producer/engineer. I own the urban music production and marketing company PBE Music and I’m also a half-conscious/half-ignant rapper that goes by Lyrical Militant.

Coming up I studied business and marketing in college and politics in university (two degrees son!). I love politics and world events. I used to be a lot more active than I am now, protesting and writing and shit, but I still try to keep in touch with wussup in the world. I’m on a bit of an information diet right now though… Stopped watching the news and it’s kinda nice. A lot of my music is about politics/the world/social issues/etc.

When I first started promoting my music online I was working for a recording studio as a marketing manager. My focus was really in the online marketing world because that always felt like the future. I had to learn a lot of it myself – school barely even touched the subject of the internet. So I learn a lot about social media marketing, search engine optimizaion, email marketing, pay-per-click advertising and a lot more.

Now I’m still making and promoting music and I work a day-job as the head of search engine optimization for Metric Marketing. My latest album is called Prelude To Revolution (2012) and I’ve been working on some other projects too. I got a lil caught up in the whole Online Marketing game/job so music took a bit of a back seat but I’m back into it now.

This blog is going to be a place where I talk about SEO & Online Marketing, Politics/Current Events, Music & Entertainment and a bunch of other shit too.

That’s it for now, I have to go do a presentation for the Prairie Search Marketing Group. That’s kind of why I wrote this post now… So when I tell people about my website… It’s not empty.
